Franklin D. Roosevelt Library Celebrates 75th Anniversary

HYDE PARK, N.Y. -- The Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum will celebrate its 75th anniversary with a ceremony on Thursday, June 30.

The anniversary ceremony for members and invited guests will take place at 11 a.m. and will be followed by the opening of the "Day of Infamy: 24 Hours that Changed History" special exhibition at noon. 

Library Director Paul Sparrow, former Library Director Lynn Bassanese, author Ken Moody and former Roosevelt Institute President Chris Breiseth will present a panel discussion of the library's history at 2 p.m. 

William E. Leuchtenburg will present a talk on "The American President: From Teddy Roosevelt to Bill Clinton" on Friday, July 1, at 3 p.m.

A theatrical performance of "In Their Own Words: The Roosevelts" will take place on Friday, July 1, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, July 2, at 4 and 7 p.m.

The library will hold a Family Fun Festival on the Great Lawn on Saturday, July 2. The festival will feature live swing music, food trucks, a dunk tank, face painting, raptor shows and more from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
